Welcome to Splendidly Spain! I’m Allison, an American currently living in Barcelona. As an experienced travel blogger with a passion for the hispanic culture, I’m here to help you plan your perfect trip to Spain!
My Story
I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, but my fascination with the Spanish language and culture didn’t begin until I spent a semester abroad in Alicante, Spain in 2011. During this time, I traveled all over the country including Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Granada, Málaga, and more.
It didn’t take long for me to fall completely in love with Spain’s “no pasa nada” way of life. I knew from that experience that I wanted to return and live in Spain one day.
Fast forward to 2018, when I decided to leave my marketing career in Chicago behind and move to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
While living and working there, I started my first travel blog “Viva La Travelista”, to empower others to travel safely and confidently in Mexico.
Eventually, my blog grew enough that I was able to leave my full-time job to pursue blogging full-time.
Why Splendidly Spain?
After more than 5 incredibly fun years in Mexico, I decided I was ready for a change and have now relocated to Barcelona, Spain as a full-time blogger and digital nomad.
