👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? No

Nomad Coffee near the Urquinaona metro station is a small but popular spot known for some of the best specialty coffee in Barcelona.

It’s a local favorite that’s hidden away on a beautiful side street and has won multiple BCN Coffee Awards for its high quality brews.

They offer fresh beans from countries like Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Peru, and Tanzania, along with hot drinks and iced options like cold brew and iced lattes.

The coffee is a bit pricier, but the quality definitely shows.

It’s more of a quick stop for great coffee since there’s limited seating and no food.

2. D’Origen Coffee Roasters

👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? Yes

Located in the Eixample neighborhood, D’Origen Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee shop known for its exceptional brews and amazing pastries.

This modern coffee shop has a beautifully decorated interior with warm lighting casting a soft glow over the wooden tables and chairs.

But aside from the atmosphere, the coffee is exceptional with many different speciality brews, including V60 coffee, along with cold brew coffee dispensers. And their iced latte is the best I’ve had in Barcelona with a generous amount of ice!

If you’re hungry, they’ve got lots of great pastries to try like pistachio croissants, lemon and poppy seed cake, carrot cake, cheesecake, and more. The cinnamon roll is my absolute favorite!

They also have free wifi and some high tables where laptops are allowed.

📍Location: Google Maps
👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? Yes

Located in the Eixample neighborhood, SAGA Coffee Stories is super stylish and my favorite spot when I want to go somewhere to work.

The cute cafe is spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The tables in the front are not laptop-friendly but if you head to the back, there’s some tables where working is allowed.

The food menu is varied with choices for breakfast, lunch, and dessert. You can choose from a selection of baguettes and pastries, and they also have a full menu with salads and sandwiches.

They offer almost every type of coffee, including Americano, espresso, cortado, latte, and brews. They also have cold drinks like fruit juices, kombucha, and seasonal lattes.

And the cutest thing about SAGA Coffee Stories is with every order, then bring a card with motivational quotes or sayings.  Mine read “You can’t make everyone happy–you’re not a plane ticket!”

4. TosTao Coffee

📍Location: Google Maps
👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? Yes

TosTao Coffee was an accidental discovery. I wanted a quick pick-me-up before starting work and chose the nearest coffee shop in the vicinity.

I ordered a basic latte and one sip was all I needed to recognize it as a top-tier coffee shop in Barcelona. They actually serve Nomad coffee here so you know it will be good!

This cute coffee shop has a very minimalist aesthetic and at the front with natural light pouring in through large windows.

But the coolest thing about TosTao is that it’s connected to the Casa Bonay boutique hotel so if you head to the back, you’ll discover a somewhat hidden lounge.

It’s a large space with dark mood lighting, green velvet couches, and tables and chairs for working or dining.  You’re free to enjoy your coffee order there and work in the space.

5. Cafés El Magnifico

📍Location: Google Maps
👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? No

Cafés El Magnifico isn’t your traditional coffee shop. It’s more like a coffee kiosk, where customers order their coffee and leave.

The place doesn’t have tables, only benches to sit on as you wait for your drink. You can stick around to finish your coffee but since the place is pretty small, most people order to go.

Cafés El Magnifico’s serves all sorts of coffee, including more unconventional ones like beetroot latte and turmeric latte.

It’s also a good place to purchase a fresh bag of coffee beans, which are high-quality and pretty affordable.

Cafés El Magnifico is also within walking distance from the Picasso Museum and the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, so after you’ve had your fill of sightseeing, it’s worth stopping by.

6. Slowmov

👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? No

Located in the more residential Gracia neighborhood, Slowmov is a small cafe with a focus on sustainable and organic coffee.

Slowmov’s coffee is incredible, which is no surprise considering they roast their own beans and do the torrefaction of the coffee on-site.

They also have freshly baked pastries and desserts like cinnamon rolls, croissants, and sweet breads, as well as a selection of sandwiches.

Slowmov has some tables for seating but laptops are not allowed so it’s best for a leisurely visit or as a place to read or study.

7. Hidden Coffee Roasters – El Born

📍Location: Google Maps
👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? Yes

Located in the El Born neighborhood, Hidden Coffee Roasters is a must-visit for coffee lovers in Barcelona.

It has a great atmosphere, good food, high-quality drinks, and friendly baristas. There’s even a coffee claw machine for some added fun.

They roast their own beans, so their coffee is as fresh as it can get. They also source interesting varieties with unique characteristics from around the world, and have a selection of brewing methods like V60.

Plus, they don’t rely on flavorings like vanilla or caramel, focusing on the high quality of the coffee and allowing the natural flavors to shine.

The pastries are good, and the sandwiches are freshly baked and toasted. Laptops are allowed on the high top tables if you want to get some work done.

8. Morrow Coffee

📍Location: Google Maps
👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? Yes

Morrow Coffee is one of the coziest cafes in Barcelona with exposed brick walls, minimalistic decor, wooden tables, and large windows.

Located in the Sant Antoni neighborhood, it’s the perfect place to start your day or catch up with friends. Laptops are allowed at the bar seating and small tables.

The cafe roasts its own coffee in the back so you smell the fresh coffee beans from across the street.

A variety of brewing methods are offered such as chemex, V60, and aeropress with a wide selection of different beans.

Their desserts are solid, like brownies and chocolate chip cookies. And if you’re looking for a heartier meal, they’ve also got avocado toast and hot sandwiches.

9. Right Side Coffee Bar

📍Location: Google Maps
👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? No

Located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, Right Side Coffee Bar is a minimalist coffee shop with excellent specialty coffee.

Previously known as Satan’s Coffee Corner, the coffee menu consists of an espresso bar and a brew bar with batch brews, cold brews, and pour overs.

They also have excellent cortados, macchiatos, cappuccinos, and flat whites, which can be made iced.  And for a sweet treat, try the affogato, a bourbon vanilla ice cream topped with a double shot of espresso.

The food menu is a bit limited but you can choose from chia fruit pudding, porridge bowls, toast, and sandwiches.

There’s a sign posted outside that says “No wifi. No decaf. No bullshit.” so clearly it’s not a great place to work.

10. La Roseta

👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? No

La Roseta hands down is my favorite coffee shop in Barceloneta. When I first moved to Barcelona, I stayed in an Airbnb just down the street and loved going there for my morning coffee!

It’s a small family-run cafe, but it feels very homey with exposed brick and just a few tables and chairs. It’s a nice change from the fancier coffee shops in Barcelona.

The coffees and espressos are small and affordable–my daily latte only cost around 2€!  They’ve also started offering iced coffees, although they’re not as good as the hot drinks.

For food, they have pound cakes, donuts, cookies, croissants, sandwiches, and varying types of bread. Best of all, they’re lovingly homemade.

And you can grab a coffee to go and then take a stroll down to Barceloneta Beach to enjoy it on a bench in front of the sea.

11. Brew Coffee

👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? Yes

If you’re a specialty coffee lover, Brew Coffee is definitely worth the visit.

They have a wide variety of different coffee items, from the basic espresso and cappuccino to more unique infusions like an osmanthus latte.

I actually like to keep it simple here and just go for a classic “cafe con leche”.  But they often switch up the special drinks menu so there’s always something new to try.

And if you’re hungry, don’t miss out on their desserts like the Basque cheesecake–it’s creamy and delicious!

Brew Coffee is about a 5-minute walk from Plaça de Tetuan in the Eixample neighborhood.  The inside is nothing special but they have indoor and outdoor seating and laptops are allowed.

12. Roast Club Cafe

👩🏼‍💻 Good for Working? No

Located in the Eixample neighborhood, Roast Club Cafe has a bit of a retro vibe with red decor and fantastic coffee.

They offer a variety of coffee drinks including batch brews, pour overs, espresso drinks, and cold brews.

It’s also one of the best places for breakfast or brunch as they’ve got heartier dishes like savory french toast, bikini roast, avocado toast, scrambled eggs, and bagels.

Roast Club Cafe is a tiny spot and laptops aren’t allowed so it’s best if you’re hungry.
