In this honest Casa del Patriarca Valencia review, I’ll cover what the hotel is really like, including the location, room quality, service, and whether it’s worth the price.

Is Casa del Patriarca Valencia Worth It?

If you want to stay in the heart of Valencia’s Old Town (Ciutat Vella), Casa del Patriarca is a really solid pick. 

You can walk to just about everything, yet the street is quiet enough at night for a good night’s sleep. 

The building itself is full of charm with tall ceilings with wooden beams, exposed brick, thoughtful green accents, and a cozy, historic feel. My room was pretty small but comfortable, with a little balcony overlooking the street. 

While there’s no elevator or in-room safe, the affordable price, amazing location, and friendly staff make it worth considering, especially for solo travelers or couples.

Casa del Patriarca: Pros & Cons

Here’s a quick breakdown of the pros and cons of staying at Casa del Patriarca:

Location

Casa del Patriarca is located on Carrer de Salvà, 12, right in the heart of Ciutat Vella (Old Town), which is pretty much the best area to stay in Valencia. 

I could walk to just about everything, and it was only a 10-minute taxi ride from the Joaquin-Sorolla train station. It’s also just a 10-minute walk from the Estacio Nord train station.

The hotel sits on a narrow, quieter street, so there wasn’t much noise at night, but there were still a few nice restaurants with outdoor seating just steps away. 

It’s a super convenient spot for exploring all of the top things to do in Valencia on foot.

Casa del Patriarca is within walking distance of:

• National Ceramics Museum (3-minute walk)
• Valencia Cathedral (8-minute walk)
• La Lonja de la Seda (8-minute walk)
• Mercado Central (8-minute walk)
• Turia Park (10-minute walk)
• City of Arts & Sciences (32-minute walk)

Rooms

I booked the Double Room with a queen-sized bed, which had a small balcony overlooking the street.  It was a nice touch, but I don’t think all rooms have one. 

They also have larger attic rooms and suites than can accommodate up to 4 people.

The room I stayed in felt very cute and cozy, with green accents, exposed brick, and tall ceilings with wooden beams that gave it a charming feel. 

The bathroom was a bit tight, especially the glass shower stall, but that’s pretty typical for Europe. 

There was a flat-screen TV and a clothes rack, but no in-room safe, so I locked my valuables in my suitcase. 

And since it’s a historic building, there’s no elevator.  This wasn’t a huge issue for me since my room was on the first floor, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve got bigger bags or are on a higher level.

Service

The reception staff at Casa del Patriarca were very friendly and spoke English.

I arrived around 11:30AM and although my room wasn’t ready yet, they stored my luggage and texted me around 12:45PM to let me know it was available.

Daily housekeeping was included, and I had everything I needed during my stay. 

The only thing to note is that the reception desk has limited hours: Monday to Sunday from 10AM-2PM, and Thursday to Saturday from 10AM-2PM and 4PM-8PM. 

If you arrive outside those times, you’ll need to do a self check-in, but they provide clear instructions and an access code.

Value

Overall, I thought Casa del Patriarca offers great value for the price. Rates typically range from €100-€150 per night, which is very reasonable for such a central location in Valencia. 

The rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re clean, comfortable, and perfect if you’re not planning to spend much time inside. 

Breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a restaurant in the same building and lots of cafés nearby. 

Considering the location and overall experience, it’s a really solid pick if you still want comfort and convenience.
