Is Hotel Montera Madrid Worth It?
If you’re looking for a stylish, upscale hotel in the heart of Madrid, I definitely think Hotel Montera Madrid is worth it!
It’s part of the Hilton Curio Collection and opened in 2023, so the hotel has a fresh, modern feel with some really beautiful design details.
The location is also hard to beat. It’s just steps from Gran Vía with a metro stop practically outside the front door.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re super comfortable with plush beds, walk-in rain showers, and a separate bathtub that I definitely took full advantage of!
And the rooftop might just be my favorite part, with incredible city views, stylish seating areas, and a shallow splash pool that’s really nice if you’re visiting Madrid during the hot summer months.
Overall, if you appreciate a beautifully designed boutique hotel with great amenities and a central location, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Hotel Montera Madrid Review: Location
The location of Hotel Montera Madrid couldn’t be more convenient, and I was able to walk pretty much everywhere during my stay.
It’s on Calle de la Montera, just around the corner from Gran Via (one of the main streets in Madrid) so you’re right in the middle of the action.
This is one of the best areas to stay in Madrid and is super busy with lots of people walking around both day and night.
Even though it’s a busy area, I didn’t have any issues with noise at night, and it felt very safe.
Plus, the Gran Via metro station is literally outside the front door, which makes getting around super easy.
I took the train from Barcelona to Madrid, and it only took about 10 minutes on the metro to reach the hotel from Atocha station.
And if you’re flying in, it’s about a 25-minute drive from Madrid-Barajas Airport.

Hotel Montera Madrid Review: Rooms
Here’s a breakdown of the guestroom, bathroom, and room amenities at Hotel Montera Madrid:
Bathroom
The bathroom layout was a bit unique, with the walk-in rain shower positioned right next to the bathtub, but after long days of walking around Madrid, a relaxing soak was exactly what I needed!
There’s also a small vanity area with the sink and a separate toilet room opposite the shower.
Other thoughtful touches included bathrobes, slippers, quality toiletries, and a professional hair dryer (which I always appreciate).

Room Amenities
Besides the basics, there were also a couple of nice touches included in the room. Upon arrival, I received a welcome amenity with a box of macaroons.
Another small detail I really liked was the refillable water bottle system. Each guest gets a reusable bottle to use during their stay, and there’s a dispenser in the hallway for easy refills.
You can’t keep the bottle unless you want to pay for it, but it’s a thoughtful and sustainable touch that stood out.
Hotel Montera Madrid Review: Amenities
Here’s a breakdown of the amenities at Hotel Montera Madrid:
La Braseri Restaurant
Located on the 9th floor, La Braseri is a beautifully designed space with plush velvet seating and painted artwork on the ceilings.
There’s both indoor dining and an outdoor terrace if you want to enjoy your meal with a view.
The Hotel Montera Madrid restaurant serves Spanish cuisine with global influences and is open for breakfast until 11AM, and then reopens for lunch and dinner at 12PM.
I didn’t try it myself, but the breakfast includes a buffet and some à la carte options if you add it to your room rate.

El Cielo de Montera Rooftop
The Hotel Montera Madrid rooftop bar is on the 10th floor and has a fun, laid-back vibe with super cute seating areas and great views of the city.
It’s open to the public in the evenings, so it can get a little lively, but in a good way. I grabbed a Hugo Spritz at the bar and it was super refreshing!
The rooftop is definitely a huge bonus and a nice spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Pool
There’s a small splash pool on the right side of the rooftop, with a few lounge beds and umbrellas for relaxing.
The pool is only a couple of feet deep, so it’s not really for swimming, but it’s still a way to cool off in the summer heat.
If you’re in Madrid for a longer stay, this is a really nice area to relax around the pool.

Hotel Montera Madrid Review: Service
The service at Hotel Montera Madrid was amazing and all the staff members were extremely welcoming.
The bell staff was very friendly from the moment I arrived, and the fact that my room was ready at 10:30AM was a major win!
Everyone spoke English, so you don’t have to worry about communicating if you don’t speak Spanish.
And the daily housekeeping (with evening turndown service) was a nice little luxury.
The concierge even emailed me a few days before my stay to help with restaurant reservations or anything else I needed.
And when I realized I left something behind after checking out, they were super responsive and had it shipped back to me right away.
Hotel Montera Madrid Review: Value
For a luxury hotel in Madrid, I think Hotel Montera offers pretty good value for the price.
The generous 2:00PM check-in and 12:00PM check-out times are a nice perk, and I was thrilled when my room was ready at 10:30AM!
The hotel also has some great amenities, including a beautiful rooftop bar, restaurant, and small pool, plus super comfortable rooms with a bathtub that I absolutely loved.
And you really can’t beat the location, with a metro stop right outside and many of Madrid’s top attractions within walking distance.
It’s definitely not a budget hotel, but if you’re willing to splurge a little for a stylish stay in a prime location, I think it’s worth it. I’d definitely stay here again!
Tip: It’s usually cheapest to book directly through the official Hilton website, so that’s where I’d recommend checking first!
